In the afternoon, drive to Hemis Monastery, one of the largest and wealthiest monasteries in Ladakh, famous for its annual masked dance festival. Use the day to slowly walk around the monasteries and adjust to the altitude before the long drives.

Drive over the Chang La Pass (5360m), one of the highest motorable passes in the world. The pass crossing offers stunning views of the surrounding peaks. Descend into the Changthang region, arriving at the mesmerizing Pangong Tso Lake to witness its famous shifting blue hues, where you will camp overnight near the banks.
