Lakes, Wildlife & Passes (LWP) Tour

Arrive at Kushok Bakula airport & transfer to hotel. Fullday at rest for acclimatization which is must. Evening easy walk to Leh bazaar. Overnight at the Hotel.

Drive west of Leh to visit the astonishing miniature paintings of Alchi Monastery dating back to 990 AD. On the way visit Magnetic Hill which defies gravity, Indus & Zanskar river Sangam. On the way back visit Military Hall of Fame. Overnight at the hotel in Leh.

Early morning drive along Indus River into Rupshu Valley. A nice wilderness drive upto Tso-Moriri Lake 4200m / 220km east of Leh. Arrive Tsomoriri by late noon. Brahamini duck, Siberian cranes, Himalayan marmot can bee seen this day. Evening relax and overnight at the tented Camp at Korzok village by Lake side.

Today you shall explore the Lake area and we suggest you to take a nice walk along the lake shores. Back to Camp for Lunch and later visit the nomadic village of Korzok and its small monastery. Tso Moriri Lake is a famous Bird watching sanctuary so carry your Binocular which shall be very helpful. Overnight at the Camp.

Morning drive back to Leh, enroute visit Chumathang Hot sulphur springs and Thiksey Monastery. Evening free in Leh bazaar.

After an early breakfast, proceed for excursion trip to Khardongla Pass 5600 meters, supposedly the world highest motorable pass. Back to Hotel by noon. Later in the evening around 4:30 pm visit Shanti Stupa & Leh Palace. Evening free.

Early morning fullday excursion to Pangong Lake 135 km / 4400m east of Leh crossing Changla Pass 17500ft and driving via Durbuk and Tangtse villages in the Changthang region of Ladakh and perhaps one of the most amazing lakes in Asia which changes its color 4 - 5 times a day. Afternoon explore the lake and enjoy a romantic walk along the lake. Evening visit the tiny nomadic village located at a distance. Overnight at tented Camp.

Members can enjoy early morning photo-shoots of the lake which looks great, breakfast and then drive back to Leh. Afternoon free at leisure for last minute shopping etc. Overnight at the Hotel.
