Leh-Uletokpo-Khardungla Pass-Nubra Valley-Pangong Lake Tour

Arrive Leh 3500 metres/11000ft and check into hotel. You would require about 5 /6 hours for acclimatization( body getting use to high altitude condotions), lunch at hotel, after lunch visit Shanti Stupa, a white domed stupa constructed by Japanese and Ladakh Buddhists in 1991 followed by walk in local market of Leh. Overnight in Leh.

Checkout and head to Uletokpo. Visit Mulbek and Lamayuru monastery, one of the oldest in Ladakh region. In Uletokpo one may visit Rizong monastery by foot 5 kms to and fro. Uletokpo has one of the best camping sites in Ladakh. Overnight at tents or cottages in Uletokpo.

Checkout and head towards Leh en-route short halts at three monasteries- Alchi monastery (only monastery in Ladakh on flat ground), Likir monastery, located near bank of river Indus is a house to 75 feet tall statue of golden Maitreya Buddha, followed by a visit to Spituk monastery. Further visit Magnetic hill (gravity defiance point), GurudwaraPathar Sahib and Leh Hall of Fame (Kargil War memorabilia). Overnight in Leh.

After breakfast, visit Leh Palace, built in 17th century the palace provides panoramic view of Leh city. Proceed to 200 years old Stok palace museum which at one time Residence of Royal family,the museum provides a chance to explore ancient coins, royal dresses, thangka paintings, weaponry and much more, it’s a great place to know about legacy of Ladakh, moving ahead to Sankar Gompa also known as Sankar monastery located in northern part of city. Overnight in Leh.

After breakfast head to Khardungla pass, highest motor able pass in the world at 5600 metres, enjoy spectacular beauty of snow-capped mountains while sipping tea or having soup at Khardungla pass. Drive ahead to reach Nubra valley which is sandwiched between Tibet and Kashmir,best thing to do at nubra valley is to enjoy a Bacterian Camel safari at Hunder sand dunes, these camels are unusual to those commonly seen, they have two humps and are even footed, visit the Panamik village which lien on the bank of River Nubara,You can also indulge in shopping for some beautiful Pashmina shawls, Kashmiri carpets, woolen socks, apricots, apples, walnuts and Kashmiri or Tibetan artefacts Village Overnight at hotel in Nubra valley.

Rise early to experience mesmerising morning of Nubra valley, after breakfast visit Diskit monastery which houses 106 ft. tall Maitrey Buddha statue and one of oldest monastery in Nubra valley, after which drive back to Leh. Evening free for leisure walk around Leh city.Overnight in Leh.

Pangong lake day excursion, after breakfast enjoy scenic ride towards PangongLake, en-route cross Chang La pass 5486 metres. Enjoy the picturesque beauty of LakePangong situated at an altitude of 4267 metres and is bisected by international border between India and China. Drive back to Leh. Overnight in Leh.
