Day wise Itinerary

Day 1 : Jorhat – Mon (Nagaland)

On arrival at Jorhat airport meet our representative and drive to Mon town of Nagaland. It takes around 5-6 hrs to reach Mon.

Mon is the home of Konyak Naga tribes. There are almost 12 headhunters tribes existed in Nagaland but the Konyak tribes practice headhunting till 1935. Once we enter Nagaland the road converted to bumpy but scenery changes to some soothing picture-perfect landscape surrounded by tea garden on both side. You can see more thatch-roofed bamboo houses and less concrete building on Mon. Upon arrival check at a lodge/hotel.

Day 2 : Mon – Longwa village

Today we venture the traditional villages of Konyak tribes Longwa which is located 42km away for Mon town. On arrival at Longwa go for a walking tour around the village. At first proceed to Anghs house which is located half in Burma and Half in India. Angh’s(chef) house and tattooed tribal man are the prime attraction of our tribal our in Northeast India. Angh’s house is decorated with various utensils made of brass metal, animal skull and weapons. Here you can buy and see beautiful handmade jewellery and decorative items made from wood. Later you can meet more headhunters and take photographs.

We also go for a hike around the village and enjoy the majestic landscape of Burma. You can also shop tradition jewellery and wooden sculpture in the roadside market. After exploring the village and observing the villages closely return to Mon in the afternoon.

Day 3 : Mon – Jorhat

On the third day of our tribal tour, we return to Jorhat early morning after breakfast. Have our lunch enroute and check-in at a tea bungalow in Jorhat. It’s time to enjoy the elevated lifestyle of a tea planter and spend a comfortable night. You can also opt for a tea tasting tour at an extra cost.

Day 4 : Jorhat – Majuli Island

Today early morning after breakfast we drive to Nimati ghat and board a ferry to Majuli Island which takes around 1.5 hrs. Majuli is a scenic river island located in the middle of mighty Brahmaputra River. Upon arrival, check-in at bamboo cottages. After fresh-n-up we will go to visit the Mising tribe villages in Majuli and see the cloths weaving process by the women. Sometimes we can catch glimpse of tribal woman fishing in the lake. Later enjoy bird watching and spot numerous migratory birds dwelling freely in the wetland of Majuli.
Watch a memorable sunset in the evening and return to the cottage. At night enjoy dinner according to your convince and have a chitchat with locals in the dining area.

Day 5 : Majuli Island

On day 5 of our Northeast India tour wake up early morning and witness the morning prayer at Auniati Satra – the biggest satra in Majuli. Later visit some other satras to know more about Neo vaishnavite culture and traditions. Meet with the monks and enjoy prayers and other performances or observe their lifestyle. We visit the Garmur satra and Samaguri Satra(Mask Making Centre & Temple). We will also see the tiny delicate museum of Garmur Satra and enjoy unique mask making tradition of Majuli. The masks of Majuli island are created by hand using the local cane, bamboo, jut and mud. The mask was created based on the story of Hindu mythology..

In the afternoon we watch more birds in one of the wetland.

Day 6 : Majuli – Ziro Valley(Arunachal Pradesh)

Today morning after breakfast drive towards Lakhimpur and proceed to Ziro valley. It takes around 6 - 7 hrs(165 km) to reach Ziro valley from Majuli.

On arrival at Ziro check-in at a resort/homestay.
Night stay in Ziro.

Day 7 : Ziro valley

On day 7 of our tribal tour in Northeast India we explore Ziro valley a world heritage site famous not only for local tribes but also for mesmerizing beauty as well as unique cultivation method. Early morning after breakfast we visit the home of Apatani tribes in their traditional form at Hong village. We see the traditional houses made from bamboo and unique agriculture system of paddy cultivation with paddy-cum-pisciculture. Hong is a stunning village surrounded by paddy fields. We also visit the bamboo groves located closely. Later we visit another traditional village Bulla village. End your day with a visit to Siikhe lake(Seeh lake) and a visit to the winery and test wine made from local fruits.

Day 8 : Ziro – Tezpur

Today early morning after breakfast started our journey to Tezpur. It takes around 7 hrs(272 km) to reach the beautiful city Tezpur. It is a calm and scenic city located on the bank of mighty Brahmaputra river. On arrival at Tezpur check-in at a hotel and take rest for the night. If time permits visit some medieval temples specially Mahabhairab Temple and ruins of Bamuni hill. .

Day 9 : Tezpur – Kaziranga

Today early morning after breakfast proceed to Kaziranga which takes around 1.5 hrs(51 km). Kaziranga is one of the largest National Parks in India. It is not only the abode of Indian rhinoceros but various other animals and birds. The wide landscape of Kaziranga offers spellbound landscape. On arrival at Kaziranga check-in at a resort. In the afternoon enjoy jeep safari in the Northern/Eastern range of the park.

Day 10 : Kaziranga: Enjoy Safari

On the day 10th of our northeast india tour, we encounter numerous wild animals closely. After breakfast, we go for Jeep Safari in the Eastern range/Central range of the park and witness various wild animals especially wild elephants bathing and see large varieties of migratory birds. You can also opt to do Elephant Safari on the park on request.
In the afternoon we will visit Kaziranga Orchid Park and observe the large collection of orchids, cactus and bamboos available in Northeast reason. You can also enjoy delicious authentic Assamese thali. Head back to the resort in the evening and relax for the night.

Day 11 : Kaziranga – Guwahati

Today is the last day of our tour. We drive you to Guwahati/Jorhat and drop you at airport for onward journey according to your schedule.
