Drive north from Nairobi to Nanyuki then into Ol Pejeta for an afternoon game drive. Travel time is approximately 3 hours to Nanyuki where you cross the equator at a marked point often with views of Mount Kenya. Afternoon game drive in Ol Pejeta focuses on the last two northern white rhinos, the chimpanzee sanctuary and abundant Big Five wildlife. A full day immersed in the Ol Jogi conservancy with far fewer vehicles than busier parks. Drive north from Lewa into the semi arid Samburu landscape, approximately 2 to 3 hours. After a final morning game drive and checkout at Lewa, arrive at Samburu National Reserve around early afternoon for an afternoon game drive along the Ewaso Ngiro River. Look for the Samburu Special Five including Grevys zebra, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, Beisa oryx and Somali ostrich. Evening accommodation is at Saruni Samburu or similar with excellent stargazing opportunities on clear nights.

A final sunrise game drive in Samburu offers last chances to see the Samburu Special Five and predators along the river. Mid morning includes a cultural visit to a Samburu village to learn about local traditions, beadwork and pastoralist culture. In the afternoon depart by road back to Nairobi, approximately 5 to 6 hours, or transfer to a nearby airstrip for a scheduled flight out.
