Manasbal Lake is located about 30 km north of Srinagar. It has predominantly rural surroundings. Manasbal is considered as the ‘supreme gem of all Kashmir lakes’ with lotus (Nelumbonucifera). It is the deepest lake of Kashmir valley and perhaps the only one that develops stable summer stratification. Manasbal is classified as warm monomictic lake and circulates once in a year for a short time. The other lakes in the region either have weak stratification or are polymictic. Close to the northern shore are the ruins of a fort which was built in 17th century bya Moghul king to cater the needs of caravans that used to travel from Punjab to Srinagar. On the south, overlooking the lake is a hillock-Ahtung which is used for limestone extraction... Dinner and Overnight stay in Srinagar.

After Breakfast You will be transferred to Pahalgam the Valley of Shepherds which is situated at the confluence of the streams flowing from river Lidder and Sheeshnag Lake. On arrival into Pahalgam enjoy the surrounding beauty or walk to Baisaren which is about 2 km from Pahalgam. A small village set in pine and fir forest is pleasing and offers good view Night halt at Hotel in PAHALGAM.

After Breakfast, Proceed for Aru valley and Chandanwari by car (by your own cost). Aru is small village, 11 kms. upstream the Lidder River, is a beautiful locality. The route is picturesque with ample campsites. This village is the starting point for treks to the Kolahoi glacier. The most beautiful of these is the huge undulating meadow of Baisaren surrounded by thickly wooded forests of pine. Hajan and Beetab valley on the way to Chandanwari. Overnight stay will be in Pahalgam Hotel.

After breakfast go for excursion to Dachigam National Park. Dachigam National Park is situated around 22kms North-East of Srinagar. It was the private hunting grounds of Maharaja Gulab Singh. Dachigam National Park is divided into two areas the lower and upper Dachigam. The best time to be in Dachigam National Park is when spring has just arrived with its pastel colors and blossoms of apricots, peaches and plums. Enjoy the safari at Dachigam National Park. Later drive back to Srinagar. On arrival check-in at houseboat. Overnight stay at Hotel in Srinagar.

Drive to Gulmarg, the flower meadow, in the morning. Its an interesting journey from Srinagar to Gulmarg. Its beauty will fascinate you. Skiing and snowboarding are very popular in Gulmarg. As a result of Gulmarg hosting of Europeans and Britons during the British Raj, the area was transformed into a hill resort and given the name Gulmarg. In Gulmarg, you may experience European architecture, an 18-hole golf course, and the longest and highest cable car in Asia (at your expense or by advance reservation online). Enjoy gondola rides to Kongdoori & Affarwat, horseback riding, shopping, and photography at this lovely snow point. Halt back for overnight stay in Gulmarg Hotel.

After breakfast proceed to Drung Waterfall. Turn right at Tangmarg road and after about another 3 kilometers, you would have arrived at Drung Waterfall. Drung is actually the name of a small village, located about 3 kilometers from Tangmarg. The waterfall is named after this village and is located on its outskirts. The name of the village is Drung but the waterfall also gets spelled as Drang or Durung.
It must have been a natural waterfall some years ago but what you see now is mostly a controlled flow of water from a hydroelectric power plant, at the top of a small hill. In evening enjoy sightseeing at Tangmarg public park. Overnight stay at Srinagar in Hotel.
