Andaman and Nicobar Islands are located in the Bay of Bengal. This group of 572 islands lies 193 km away from Cape Negrais in Myanmar, 1255 km from Calcutta, and 1190 km from Chennai. The two important groups of islets are Ritchie's Archipelago and Labyrinth Islands.
The Nicobar Islands are located to the south of the Andaman, 121 km from the Little Andaman Island. Of the total 572 islands, only 36 islands are inhabited. The British established their first colony in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands in 1789, which was abandoned in 1796. The British finally annexed the islands in the 19th century adding them to their empire.
They turned it into a penal colony for Indian freedom fighters. The construction of the infamous Cellular Jail was completed in 1908. Hundreds of anti-British Indians were tortured to death or simply executed here. With the Second World War, Japanese troops occupied the islands and the local tribes initiated guerrilla activities to drive them out. When India achieved independence in 1947, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands were incorporated into the Indian Union. However to reach these islands one has to undertake journey from Delhi, Chennai or Kolkata.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Arrival Port Blair

  Arrival at Port Blair in the morning by flight/ship and transfer to your chosen hotel. After freshen up visit the Corbyn's Cove Beach- 9 kms from Port Blair - a coconut palm fringed beach, ideal for swimming, sun-basking & bathing, Overnight in hotel.

• Day 2 : Port Blair

  Morning after breakfast start city tour of places in and around Port Blair covering famous places like Cellular Jail, Fisheries, Anthropological Forest Museum & Marine Museums, Cottage Industry Emporium and the Chatham Saw Mill, Return to hotel.
  
  Evening, attend the enthralling Sound and Light Show at Cellular Jail- where the heroic saga of the Indian freedom struggle is brought alive. Overnight stay.

• Day 3 : Port Blair -Havelok Islands

  Early morning after breakfast departure by A/C Private ferry to Havelock Island (57 kms by sea from Port Blair). On arrival check into your chosen hotel. Later visit Radhanagar Beach at Havelock Island. Overnight stay at Havelock Island.

  Morning after Breakfast visit Elephant Beach by speed boat from Havelock Jetty (This destination offers beautiful white sand beach along with an amazing coral reef which starts at a depth less than a meter. One session of Snorkeling with our compliments) After lunch visit Kalapathar Beach. Overnight stay at Havelock Island.

  After breakfast departure by A/C Govt ferry to Neil Island. On arrival visit Bharatpur Beach (the place is beautiful with lush green vegetation and variety of fishes), Also visit Natural Rock Formation, Laxmanpur Beach,before returning returning to your chosen hotel in Port Blair for overnight stay..

• Day 6 : Port Blair -Baratang Island

  Early morning after breakfast, departure to Baratang Island (110Kms) which holds the nature’s best treasures gifted to the Islands. Limestone caves is a must see points for nature lovers & leisure travelers alike. The Road journey from Port Blair to Baratang involves crossing through creeks and dense equatorial forests. Visit Mud Volcano, return back to Port Blair in the evening for overnight stay.

• Day 7 : Port Blair - Mount Harriet – Chidiya Tapu

  Early Morning after breakfast, visit Mount Harriet National Park (2nd highest peak in the Andaman & on the way the place is shown on the reverse side of Rupee 20 note in India, After lunch Visit Chidiya Tapu Beach (Andaman's best Sunset point). Return to hotel for overnight stay.

• Day 8 : Port Blair - Jolly Buoy- Red Skin Islands

  Morning after breakfast proceed for a full day excursion to Red Skin/Jolly Buoy islands, two islands in Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park to see coral reefs, exotic varieties of beautiful ornamental fish and other marine life. The fascinating world of tropical forest and sandy beaches coupled with clear blue water creates a breath taking aura. The glass bottom boat helps you to take a closer look at vast coral colonies + Visit Wandoor Beach before returning to your hotel for overnight stay.

Optional Activities – Snorkeling, Glass bottom boat ride, Swimming, Trekking + visit Ross Island-from where the Britishers' governed the entire A&N islands, prior to India’s Independence.
