Package Tour Detail Sikkim has a rich three hundred years old history with Miwang Chogyal Chempo Palden Thondup Namgyal being the last and the 12th consecrated Chogyal of Sikkim. The written history of Sikkim starts in Yuksam. Day 1 - Arrive Pelling from Gangtok enjoying a pictures drive through Ravangla. After noon a pleasant walk to Pemayangtse monastery enjoying the sun set on Kanchenjunga – the third highest mountain in the world. Stay O/N.
Day 2 - Enjoy the sunrise on Kanchandzonga mountain range and trek to Tashiding. Arrive Tashiding. A short walk to Tashidig monastery takes you to this premier monastery in Sikkim. Stay at Tashiding village.
Day 3 - Trek to the first capital of Sikkim- Yuksam, also the trekking base camp for Dzongri and Gochala treks where Yak and Yeti Travels regularly organises trekking trips to the international trekkers. This is also the base camp for starting Mt. Thingchinkhang climbing expedition which was climbed by German Spanish and Indian team in October 2006, marking it the 1st International Sucessful expedition to Mt. Thigchinkhang 6010 in Sikkim Himalayas. Afternoon hike to Norbugang where a stone throne of 1st King lies as a National Monument. Stay O/N.
Day 4 - Explore Yuksam where ethnic communities Subba -Tsong, Lepchas and Bhutias live in harmony. Khanchendzonga Conservation Committee has its office here which is an active NGO in protection and conservation issues for Khanchendzonga National Park which has rare and endangered species of plants and wildlife. Sikkim is the second place after South America in terms of bio-diversity and bird species to be located together in a certain area. Trek to Khechopalri Lake- a sacred lake to the Sikkimese people. It is popularly called as “Wishing Lake” where pilgrims come to ask for a wish to be fulfilled by their next visit. Arrive Khechoperi village. Stay O/N.
Day 5 - An early walk to this lake is really rewarding and soul searching. You will find yourself amidst the tranquil and peaceful nature forgetting the world outside its atmosphere. Not a single leaf floats on its waters and if a leaf falls a bird will quickly pick it up dropping it at its shore. This land- logged lake is a host to the migratory birds that visit during March and April. A walk to Cho jo village nearby will enrich you in many ways where Lepchas, the original inhabitants of Sikkim share their deep belief with this holy lake. They regard this lake a their local deity and pay homage for it being the little sister of Lake Mansarovar in Tibet near Mt. Kailash.
Day 6 - Your trek is about to reach the last lap today but you wake up thinking the trek would just continue with such legacy, spirits, purity and heavenly experience at soul.
Day 7 - Its time for departure. Alsa! You had some more time trekking with Yak and Yeti Travels.
