Located on the far west end of Barra da Tijuca, Prainha Beach maybe a little less popular than Copacabana and Ipanema but it has a lot to offer to its visitors. Prainha Beach is said to perfect for riding the waves. The best way to reach Prainha is by driving or else you can take A Surf-bus which runs from Rio’s Downtown to Prainha Beach many times a day. The scenic beauty of the beach is mesmerizing. Situated in the arms of a natural reserve, Prainha beach gives you a totally different experience than the urban beaches. The beach might not be appropriate for swimming due to strong currents but it is perfect for surfing.
