Rajasthan Tourism Holiday offers you a special trip- the Rajasthan Temple Tour. This tour is recommended to tourists that desire to explore the beauty of the forts, lakes, deserts and palaces of Rajasthan as well as its temples. Rajasthan is one such place where religion and history have a hand in hand. Stone carvings, temple bells, evening prayers, and town legends can be found in every town and city, and these have been told for hundreds of years. The Temple Tour is slow and relaxed and takes fourteen days. It pays visits to Jaipur, Khatu Shyamji, Salasar Balaji, Pushkar, Ajmer, Nathdwara, Udaipur, Ranakpur, Mount Abu, Osian, Jodhpur, Ramdevra and Jaisalmer. The speed is rather slow so that travellers can take a rest and enjoy the spiritual ambiance of every sacred site. Along with temples, there are lakes, mountains, deserts, and colorful bazaars that take the journey as a wholesome experience to the heart and soul. Rajasthan Tourism Holiday ensures that the travelling party is comfortable throughout the journey. Hotel hygiene, hospitality, good roads and local delicacies make the journey temple, peace, rest and memory trip. Families, groups, and individual travellers will find this tour interesting and enjoyable as it is not overly devoted to prayers or vacation.
The tour begins in Jaipur, the Indian Pink City. Then you go to bed in your hotel and then go out in the evening after a nice reception. Govind Dev Ji Temple within the City Palace is the first temple. It is devoted to Lord Krishna, and is famous due to the evening aarti. The aarti carries conches, chants and bells. Every day thousands of followers gather, and it is heartrending to see them sing together. Following the aarti, you may walk around the Hawa Mahal and have a simple Rajasthani dinner and retire to stay in Jaipur.
Activities : Forts and Palaces
The second day starts by paying visit to Birla Mandir. This temple is made of white marble and it glistens in the morning sun and is dedicated to the Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi. The serene interior and the gentle chanting give it a good beginning. Then you visit Moti Dungri Ganesh Temple which is a famous shrine in Jaipur. Individuals hold the view that it is through prayer that things can be cleared. You will later see Galta Ji Temple, which is the Monkey Temple. It is constructed on hills and it has natural water tanks. It is a site that is close to nature with a particularly fondness of langurs, peacocks and flowing water. Evening is a free time when you can relax and explore Jaipur markets and then have a rest in the hotel.
Activities : Forts and Palaces
On quitting Jaipur, you visit Khatu Shyamji which has been among the most popular temples of Rajasthan. It is devoted to the Shyam Baba, who is believed to be the embodiment of Barbarika of the Mahabharata. The temple is very devotional. Millions of people are demonstrated by colorful flags, the chanting repetition of Shyam Baba ki Jai and big queues of people worshipping. You can sit in the courtyard after darshan and watch faith unite people together. At the end of the day it rests in a hotel nearby.
Activities : Sightseeing
The pilgrimage proceeds to the great pilgrimage place of Salasar Balaji where Lord Hanuman is worshipped. This temple is known to wish and believers usually bring coconuts in red cloth. The atmosphere is vibrant whereby there is continual chanting of Hanuman Chalisa. A stay here makes you feel a brave and powerful man. Cultural touches are put on the devotional journey in the evening with simple Rajasthani food and folk music in the town.
Activities : Sightseeing
Challenger next Pushkar is one of the sacred towns in India. Once you have checked in, you walk to the Brahma Temple. It is among the few temples in the world that is devoted to Lord Brahma. The spire of red is shining; the chanting of the priests is strong. Your slow walk after darshan is on Pushkar Lake, enclosed with ghats where people perform sacred dips. Peace is achieved by sitting along the water and listening to temple bells. It is a wonderful night to visit Pushkar bazaars and have a glass of fresh lassi before retiring to sleep.
Activities : Sightseeing
Even though this is a temple tour, a spiritual journey in Rajasthan would not be complete without the visit to Ajmer Sharif Dargah, the tomb of the Sufi saint known as Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti. Ajmer is only 15 km from Pushkar. The qawwalis in the courtyard make it soulful and unite people of different religions. You can also visit Adhai Din Ka Jhopra, an ancient mosque of an Indo-Islamic structure after the visit. The night is spent in taking rest in Ajmer.
Activities : Forts and Palaces
The seventh is the day of Nathdwara, which is marked by Shrinathji Temple of Lord Krishna. The temple is vibrant and every ceremony is conducted as a party. The Shrinathji idol is well adorned with jewels and coloured cloths. Bhajans are sung by devotees and they also present sweets such as laddus and peda that are given as prasad. The beauty of this temple lies in its family nature in which God is the child and all the rituals are done with love. The night stay in Nathdwara keeps the tourists near to prayer.
Activities : Forts and Palaces
In the morning we head towards Udaipur, the city of lakes. It has numerous palaces, lakes and beautiful temples in Udaipur. In the city center we first visit Jagdish Temple. The temple consists of a spire and hewn pillars. It is devoted to Lord Vishnu. Indoors, the worshipers sing in unison and it reverberates. Then we visit Lake Pichola to rest. Eklingji Temple where we visit in the evening is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is silent at night and it is only possible to hear the bells and chants. It leaves a lasting memory.
Activities : Forts and Palaces
Day 9 will bring us to Ranakpur, which is famous throughout the world with Jain temples. Lord Adinath has the main Chaumukha Temple. It contains over 1,400 carved marble pillars; they do not all resemble each other. The temple is very silent; even the footsteps seem to be sacred. Marble windows allow the penetration of sunlight and make the carvings look luminous. It is like residing in a stone poem. We spend the night at Ranakpur.
Activities : Forts and Palaces
We go to Mount Abu which is the sole hill station in Rajasthan. The Dilwara Jain Temples are primarily the sight here. They are constructed out of white marble. The designs on the pillars and ceilings are highly intricate indicating the ability of people many centuries earlier. These temples are referred to as the most beautiful Jain temples in the world. We visit it and spend the time in the cool climate, in the walks in the places close to the Lake Nakki, and in the evening.
Activities : Forts and Palaces
Then we pass to Osian, an ancient town of Jodhpur called Khajuraho of Rajasthan due to the presence of numerous beautiful temples. We see the Sachiya Mata Temple and Sun Temple. As we stroll through these ancient temples we experience the past and piety. There are handicrafts and snacks in small markets around making the trip seem simple and rural.
Activities : Forts and Palaces
It is Day 12 and we are in the Blue City which is Jodhpur. Jodhpur also has significant temples in addition to the large Mehrangarh Fort. Chamunda Mata Temple within the fort is popular among locals and provides them with a broad view of the city. We also go to Maha Mandir Temple, which is aided by 84 carved pillars. By night we stroll along the old blue lanes, in which on every corner we are reminded of the spiritual culture of the city by little shrines.
Activities : Forts and Palaces
Jodhpur leads to Ramdevra, where there is the temple of Baba Ramdevji, a folk god of Hindus and Muslims. The temple abounds with worshippers singing bhajans and giving chadars. People find it necessary to make long walks on their bare feet to this shrine. The religious ambience is maintained by the night sojourn in Ramdevra.
Activities : Forts and Palaces
On the final day we visit Jaisalmer, which is the Golden City. Before we go we visit Tanot Mata Temple close to the border. It is known because of the myth that bombs that fell on war did not blow inside the temple. It is one of the most inspirational temples in Rajasthan because of the faith of the soldiers and the locals. With this last journey we have the memories of fort, lake, desert, and that sense of calm that is afforded by the temples of Rajasthan.
