A rugged and mountainous landscape with snowcapped peaks and glacier covered terrain in the north, spurs of the Himalayan peaks in the center and heavily forested foothills and subtropical plains in the south. This is not an international conservation Park, This is a kingdom of Bhutan.
Having maintained a policy of strict isolationism, Bhutan today is known as one of the oldest (dating back to the mid 17thcentury) and well preserved cultures in the world. In fact it has only been in the recent decades of the 20th century that foreigners have been allowed to visit the country, and only in limited numbers.
Bhutan have a very small population which is sparsely distributed throughout the country. There are three main ethnic groups in Bhutan; the Ngalops (often called Drukpas) live in the north-western region, the Sharchops who inhabit the eastern and central region and lastly the Lhotshampas are the third ethnic group who live in the southern foothill districts. The Bhutanese revere the tantric guru Padmasambhava the founder of Himalayan Buddhism in the 8th century.
This is just a small overview of Bhutan. Highlights -
Explore Ritsha Village: Bhutan’s Punakha valley is famous for rice farming where both red and white rice are grown along the river valleys of Pho and Mo Chhu, two of the most prominent rivers in Bhutan. ‘Ritsha’ meaning ‘at the base of a hill’ is a typical village in Punakha.
The village houses are made of pounded mud with stone foundations. Each house is only two storey high surrounded with gardens and the rice fields. The gardens also usually have fruit bearing plants like oranges and papaya among the organic vegetables.
Hike to Paro Taktshang: At the face of sheer cliff rock of 900m above the valley below, Taktshang lies there.
This place surround you with positive energy and allows one to enjoy the spectacular view of Taktshang and the surrounding below. The hike takes around 3 hrs. to reach there and for the first timer it would take a day to reach there.Bicycle through the unwinding roads: With low traffics, the travelers will enjoy riding a bicycle through the scenic road.
The riding will be accompanied with Bhutan’s fresh air, spectacular view of the mountains, surrounding and the majestic fortress above the valley you are traveling through.

Day wise Itinerary

  • Day 1 : Arrive at Paro - Thimphu

    The Flight to Paro gives you a breathtaking with views of Major Himalaya peaks such as Everest, Kanchenjunga and Makalu, and Bhutan¡¦s own snowy peaks, the sacred Jhomolhari, Jichu Drake and Tsherimgang on a clear day.
    As you enter Paro valley, you will sweep past forested hills with the silvery Pa Chu (Paro river) meandering down the valley below. Paro Dzong (fortress) and Ta Dzong (watchtower) on the hills above the town will be a fine sight. Upon arrival into Paro, and completing your visa & customs formalities, a representative from our company will be there to receive you as you exit the Airport. Our team will then escort you to Thimphu, the capital City of Bhutan for a lunch.
    After lunch,
    „h Our team will escort you to show the trail for the next day bicycle riding with the visit Buddha Dordenma Statue, this massive statue of Buddha Shakyamuni measures in at a height of 51.5 meters, making it one of the largest statues of Buddha in the world. The statue is made of bronze and is gilded in gold. The Buddha Dordenma is located atop a hill in Kuenselphodrang Nature Park and overlooks the Southern entrance to Thimphu Valley.
    „h Followed by a visit to Thimphu Memorial Chorten, built in the memory of our late 3rd king of Bhutan Jigme Dorji Wangchuck. It is believed that a wished made from deep within heart is being fulfilled. It holds paintings and statues which provide a very rare insight into Buddhist Philosophy. (Overnight Hotel in Thimphu)

  • Day 2 : Thimphu Sightseeing

    After breakfast,
     Our team will drive you to Sangaygang from where you will begin your day to explore Thimphu riding a bicycle. You will visit the 18 Century Wangditse monastery, situated atop Thimphu. On your way back from Wangditse, stop by the Motithang Takin Preserve to see the Takin, Bhutan’s National Animal.
     Followed by a visit to Changangkha Lhakhang, the oldest temple in Thimphu built in 12th century. It is hovering over a ridge above Thimphu, near lower Motithang. The Lhakhang houses Chenrizig “Bodhisattva of Compassion” an 11-headed, thousand-armed manifestation of Avalokiteswara as the central statue. The prayer books in this Lhakhang are larger than the usual Buddhist texts. There are large prayer inside the Lhakhang and small on the walls outside the Lhakhang.
     And a long riding to Buddha Point through a trail above Changangkha Lhakhang. The trail provides an opportunity to enjoy the nature as well as the valley below. Then ride below to the town for a lunch or our team will arrange you a lunch at the Kuensel Phodrang.
    Afternoon,
     Our team will take you around to visit key cultural sites such as the Trashichoe Dzong, Memorial Chorten, Textile Museum, Handmade Paper Factory, National Library, the Zorig Chusum Art School and the Folk Heritage Center. After lunch you will continue to visit many of Thimphu cultural heritage sites. (Overnight at Thimphu)

  • Day 3 : Thimphu Sightseeing

    After breakfast,
     You will embark on a bicycle riding to the Tango Monastery, the only university of the monk in Bhutan. Along with a ride you will enjoy birdwatching and the environment around. You will have your Pack Lunch at Dodena at the base of Tango and Cheri Monastery.
     Followed by a lunch, you will ride back to Town with a visit to Pangri Zampa, where the monks learn astrology. If you wish to learn your future the astrologer will predict and tell you about it.You will then continue your tour to Town where you will explore the town either on foot or by driving before and rest at your hotel. (Overnight at Thimphu)

  • Day 4 : Thimphu to Punakha

    After Breakfast,
     Our team will drive you to Dochula Pass (10,100feet), a popular location among visitors as it offers a stunning 360-degree panoramic view of Bhutanese Himalayan range. The view is especially scenic with snowcapped mountains forming a majestic backdrop to the tranquility of the 108 Druk Wangyal Chortens (Pictures given above) gracing the mountain pass.
     You will then depart for Punakha, the Ethereal Ancient Capital riding bicycle. As you ride down you will fall in love with the best nature has to offer and the villages on the way. You will then stop at Ritsha village for you get a glimpse of rural life followed by a visit to Chimmi Lhakhang, Popularly known for its fertility shrine.
     You will then after lunch ride down to Punakha where you will check in your hotel for a change to visit Punakha Dzong. The dzong lies beautifully at the confluence of two River known as Pho Chhu (Male River) and Mo Chhu (Female River).
     Our team will then take you to visit Bhutan’s one of the longest suspension bridge for you to have a heart pumping experience in Bhutan. (Overnight at Punakha)

  • Day 5 : Hike to Khamsum Yulley Chorten Followed By Rafting at Punakha River near the Dzong

    After Breakfast,
    „h Our team will take you to the base of Khamsum Yulley Chorten from where you will start your hike. The Chorten offer one with a stunning view of the green valley below. The Chorten is built by her majesty the Queen Mother for the benefit of sentiment being. Our team will then escort you back to your hotel for a lunch.
    After Lunch,
    „h You will raft either through Pho Chhu or Mo Chhu to the Puna Tsang Chhu, the combination of both river.
    „h The place is also rich with biodiversity offering you with an opportunity to have a birdwatching along the river side. (Overnight at Punakha)

  • Day 6 : Punakha - Paro

    After Breakfast,
     Our team will drive to Thimphu with a stop at Dochula Pass, in case if you have missed to spot a beautiful structure at the pass or for you to have a Photograph to take back a memory. Our team will stop at Thimphu for you to buy souvenirs and gift back to home before your lunch. Or visit the Postal Museum
    After Lunch,
     Drive to Paro with a visit to Semtokha Dzong, one of the oldest and the first dzong built by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyel and the Famous Tachog Lhakhang. (Overnight at Paro)

  • Day 7 : Hike to Paro Taktshang

    After early Breakfast,
    After breakfast,
     Hike to Taktsang Monastery. The trail is broad and the walk of approximately 2 hours uphill takes you almost a kilometer above the Paro valley floor. The view of Taktsang Monastery built on a sheer cliff face 900 metres above the valley floor is a spectacular sight. The Monastery is also an important pilgrim site for the Buddhists. The great Guru Rinpoche is said to have flown here on the back of a tigress when he brought the teachings of the Buddhist Dharma to Bhutan in the 8th Century. He then mediated in a cave there for three months where the monastery was later built. Nearby there is a teahouse where you can stop for refreshments.
     In the afternoon, visit 7th Century Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the 108 temples constructed by the Tibetan king Songtsen Gampo.
    Alternatively, day 10 could be spent on a day trip to the Haa Valley, one of the most picturesque districts in Bhutan. Reached via the beautiful Chelela Pass, Haa Valley is characterized by its surrounding rugged and mountainous terrain. (Overnight at your hotel in Paro)

  • Day 8 : Departure

    After Breakfast,
