Day wise Itinerary

Day 1 Mererani Mining Tour

Kilimanjaro National Park

A full day guided tour to the Gemstone mining experience in Mererani. Start from Arusha or Moshi Town. Time: At 8:30am pick up from your hotel in Town, then drive to Mererani (approx. 2hrs drive or 60km), Upon arrival on site the tour begins, with a brief history of the area and the gemstone. Then, expert guides will take you down to the mine to learn about the mining process, and see where this unique blue-violet stone is found. (1-hour tour), (This beautiful stone is discovered approximately 1000 meters underground, on a volcanic igneous rock. Spend time chatting with the miners, then after a lunch break (2:00pm) drive back to Town for dinner and your overnight stay.
