Pahalgam is a town and a notified area committee in Anantnag district in India's northernmost state of Jammu and Kashmir. It is a popular tourist destination, and every year, many tourists visit Pahalgam. This world famous hill station is 45 km, from the District Head Quarter at Anantnag and located on the banks of river Lidder at an altitude of 7200 ft. from sea level. Pahalgam is one among the five tehsils of Anantnag district and tehsil head quarters are located in the main town of Pahalgam. It was once a tourist attraction and a favourite place for shooting f Bollywood films, and is still a health resort. Besides tourist huts, several hotels in private sector have come up here and these hotels provide modern facilities to their guests. A number of treks in this region also begin from Pahalgam, as the 35 km trail traverses through pinewoods to the spectacular Kolahoi Glacier. Pahalgam is also associated with the annual Amarnath Yatra. Chandanwari (2895 m), 16 km from Pahalgam, is the starting point of the yatra that takes place every year in the month of Sawan (July to August)

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Arrive Srinagar

  Arrive Srinagar, a lake city of Kashmir, located in the heart of the Kashmir valley at an altitude of 1730 meters above sea level. Srinagar is famous for its lakes dotted with shikaras and the Mughal Gardens. In Srinagar you will be accommodate at houseboat / hotel. Today later in the afternoon you can enjoy a 'Shikara Ride' on the picturesque Dal Lake. Evening in houseboat and staying overnight there.

• Day 2 : Srinagar - Sonamarg - Srinagar

  Today you will be driven to Sonamarg through the Sindh Valley which presents yet another spectacular facet of countryside in Kashmir. Situated at an altitude of 2730 meters, Sonamarg (The Meadow of Gold) has as its backdrop, snowy mountains against a cerulean sky. Optionally visit Thajiwas Glacier, a major local attraction during the summer months. On evening drive back to Srinagar. Overnight on board the houseboat.

• Day 3 : Srinagar - Pahalgam

  Today you will be taken to Pahalgam, the valley of Shepherds, situated at the confluence of the streams flowing from Sheshnag Lake and the Lidder River, at an altitude of 2130 meters. Explore the countryside on your own at your leisure after a short rest on checking in hotel. Night stay at Pahalgam.

  Today enjoy the beauty of Pahalgam City and spend the time of your own with the optional trip to Chandanwari and Aru. Staying overnight at Hotel

• Day 5 : Pahalgam - Gulmarg

  This morning from Srinagar you will be taken to Gulmarg - Meadow of Flowers, situated at an altitude of 2730 meters, and a famous ski resort during the winters. On Arrival check in hotel and enjoy leisurely walks on the lush green meadows of flowers with a backdrop of the snowcapped mountains. You can also enjoy an optional Gandola ride (Cable Car). Evening at hotel and staying overnight there.

• Day 6 : Gulmarg

  Whole day at Gulmarg. Enjoy the beauty of Gulmarg and spend the time with personal activities. Night stay at Gulmarg.

  Today after breakfast check out hotel and later in the afternoon you will be driven to Srinagar. Night stay at hotel in Srinagar.

  Today after breakfast you will visit the famous Mughal Gardens, Shalimar, Nishat / Chashmashahi Gardens known for its beautiful land scrapings and water fountains. While returning back enroute visit Kashmir handicraft center / carpet weaving factory. In the afternoon enjoy leisure with personal activities. Night stat at hotel.

  Today after breakfast you will be driven to the Srinagar airport for onwards journey.
