Gulmarg is located 52 km from Srinagar. Gulmarg has been a resort for the kings like Yosuf Shah Chak and Jahangir who used to visit frequently. The old name of Gulmarg was " Gaurimarg", the name of Lord Shiva's wife. Yousuf Shah Chak changed its name to Gulmarg, meaning the place of roses. Gulmarg is easily accessible from Srinagar or Srinagar Airport (SXR), the capital of Kashmir, in under 2 hours by car or bus. Just 1 hour on the way is the town of Tangmarg, a key tourist attraction and also a main destination for skiers riding down from Gulmarg during the winter months. From Tangmarg, the Gulmarg plateau is just 30 minutes travel. The slopes of Afarwat Hills of the Pir Panjal Range of the Himalayan Chain feast one of the longest and highest ski slopes in Asia.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Arrive Srinagar

  Arrive Srinagar, a lake city of Kashmir, located in the heart of the Kashmir Valley at an altitude of 1730 meters above sea level. Srinagar is famous for its lakes dotted with shikaras and the Mughal Gardens. In Srinagar you will be accommodate at houseboat / hotel. Today later in the afternoon you can enjoy a 'Shikara Ride' on the picturesque Dal Lake. Evening in houseboat and staying overnight there.

• Day 2 : Srinagar - Sonamarg - Srinagar

  Today you will be driven to Sonamarg through the Sindh Valley which presents yet another spectacular facet of countryside in Kashmir. Situated at an altitude of 2730 meters, Sonamarg (The Meadow of Gold) has, as its backdrop, snowy mountains against a cerulean sky. Optionally visit Thajwas Glacier, a major local attraction during the summer months. In the evening drive back to Srinagar. Overnight on board the houseboat.

• Day 3 : Srinagar

  Today you will visit the famous Mughal Gardens, Shalimar, Nishat / Chashmashahi Gardens known for its beautiful land scrapings and water fountains. While returning back enroute visit Kashmir handicraft center / carpet weaving factory. In the afternoon enjoy leisure with personal activities. Night stay at houseboat.

• Day 4 : Srinagar - Pahalgam

  Today you will be taken to pahalgam, the valley of Shepherds, situated at the confluence of the streams flowing from Sheshnag Lake and the Lidder River, at an altitude of 2130 meters. Exlopre the countryside on your own at your leisure after a short rest on checking in hotel. Night stay at Pahalgam.

• Day 5 : At Pahalgam

  Today enjoy the beauty of Pahalgam City and spend the time of your own with the optional trip to Chandanwari and Aru. Staying overnight at hotel.

• Day 6 : Pahalgam - Gulmarg

  This morning from Srinagar you will be taken to Gulmarg - Meadow of Flowers, situated at an altitude of 2730 meters, and a famous ski resort during the winters. On arrival check in hotel and enjoy leisurely walks on the lush green meadows of flowers with a backdrop of the snowcapped mountains. You can also enjoy an optional Gandola ride( Cable Car). Evening at hotel and staying overnight there.

  Today you will be driven to the Srinagar Airport for onwards journey.
