We think you'll love the Masai Mara National Reserve, one of the best places to watch wildlife anywhere in Kenya. You're almost guaranteed to see plenty of predators, including lions, leopards, cheetahs and spotted hyenas. With so many impalas, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes and other prey species here, as well as over 500 bird species, you'll see plenty of safari action. Black rhinos are possible in the Mara Triangle. Also everywhere are elephants, giraffes and hippos, and everyone who visits falls in love with the Masai Mara's classic safari landscapes. Evening Game Drive Going on an evening game drive is one of the highlights of any safari. This is when temperatures cool, the light becomes softer and the wildlife begins to get active. Not only will you be out when the light is best for taking photos, but it's also one of the best times of day for seeing the animals. Of all Kenya's Rift Valley lakes, high-altitude Lake Naivasha offers the richest variety of experiences. There's lots to do here, and you might even see zebras, giraffes or hippos. Its human story is also fascinating: Lake Naivasha was popular with colonial types as an escape from the city, and it plays a similar role for locals now, especially on weekends. Evening This evening you'll go on a boat trip on Lake Naivasha. It's a chance to enjoy a quiet moment or two and take in the pretty surroundings on this popular lake. Keep an eye out for hippos as you travel around. This evening in Crescent Island Game Park, you’ll see plenty on your guided walk and learn so much from your guide. You'll be visiting one of the best safari parks in Africa when you come to Amboseli. The park is filled with big-tusked elephants, and Mt Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest mountain (5895m), looms over Amboseli. This combination makes for some fantastic photos, especially when the clouds clear over the summit as they do most days around sunrise and sunset. You also have a good chance of seeing lions, cheetahs, hyenas, zebras, buffaloes, giraffes (out in the park's east), wildebeests and plenty of gazelles. The park is also terrific for birding, with 420 species recorded. Evening Game Drive, Amboseli National Park You'll love the warm light and cooler temperatures as we take you out to explore on your evening game drive. This time of day is when both predators and prey are most active and it can feel as though anything could happen at any moment. This is when you'll most enjoy being on safari.
