And every time the clouds clear on the mountain's summit, you'll want to line up a photo of these animals with Mt Kilimanjaro in the background. Lake Nakuru National Park has lots of fans, and you're sure to be one after you visit. Although the park is only minutes away from the busy town of Nakuru, it has an incredible wildlife offering. This includes large numbers of both black and white rhino, endangered Rothschild's giraffes, pink flamingos, and lions that climb trees. This is one of only a handful of parks in Africa where you can see lions up in the branches. The view out over the lake from high on the escarpment is superb, while the lake itself is surrounded by acacia woodlands. This time of day is when both predators and prey are most active and it can feel as though anything could happen at any moment. This is when you'll most enjoy being on safari.
