Vaishno Devi Mandir is one of the holy Hindu temples dedicated to Shakti, located in the hills of Vaishno Devi, Jammu and Kashmir. In Hinduism, Vaishno Devi, also known as Mata Rani and Vaishnavi, is a manifestation of the Mother Goddess.
The temple is near the town of Katra, in the Reasi district in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. It is one of the most revered places of worship in India. Approximately 8 million pilgrims visit the temple every year and it is the second most visited religious shrine in India.
According to a Hindu epic, Maa Vaishno devi was born in the south of India in the home of Ratnakar Sagar. Her worldly parents had remained childless for a long time. Ratnakar had promised, the night before the birth of the divine child, that he would not interfere with whatever his child desired. Ma Vaishno Devi was called Trikuta as a child. Later she was called Vaishnavi because of taking birth from Lord Vishnu's lineage. When Trikuta was 9 years old, She sought her father's permission for doing penance on the seashore. Trikuta prayed to Lord Vishnu in the form of Rama. During Shree Rama's search for Sita, He reached the seashore slong with his army. His eyes fell on this Divine Girl in deep meditation. Trikuta told Shree Rama that She had accepted Him as Her husband. Shree Ram told Her that during this Incarnation He had vowed to be faithful to only Sita. However pleased with her devotion, Lord Rama gave her name Vaishnavi (devotee of Lord Rama ( Maha Vishnu)) and assured Her that in Kaliyuga He would mainfest as Kalki and would marry her. Lord Rama also siad Trikuta was to become famous as Vaishno Devi and would become immortal forever.

Day wise Itinerary

• Day 1 : Arrive Jammu - Katra

  Today after very early morning breakfast you will begin your trek to visit temple of Mata Vaishno Devi. Full day devi Darshan and Puja. In the evening return to Katra and overnight staying at the hotel.

• Day 3 : Katra - Patnitop

  Today check out your hotel on time and then a 2 hours drive will take you to Patnitop a serene and peaceful hill station offering breath taking views of the dense pine forest and snow clad magnetic mountains. On arrival check in hotel at leisure for personal activities and enjoying the natural beauty of Patnitop.
  
  Optional: Horse riding at your own. Staying overnight at hotel.

  Today on time you will visit Sanasar Lake, Nathatop, etc. In the Evening back to Patnitop to Staying overnight at the hotel.
