Samtengang Trek

Arrival in Paro by Flight. Pick up from the Airport.
Enjoy the beauty of lushly green valley and the traditional food of Bhutan. Overnight stay.

Full day sight-seeing.
Take a drive up to Ramthanga and after a short walk we reach Taktsang Gomba (Monastery). Taktsang means 'The Tiger's Nest'. This Monastery is perched on a rocky mountain at an altitude of nearly 4000 feet. However, most of the travelers can visit only the main site named as Taktsang Pel-Phu. According to the legends Guru Padmasambva, founded this monastery during eight Century. Drive back to the town. Overnight stay.

Drive to Thimpu. The path follows the river Pacchu downstream to its confluence and finally climbs up to the river Wangchu to the capital of Bhutan - The Land of Dragons. Nearby places Sight-seeing. Overnight stay.

An early morning visit to Dochula Pass (3150 Sq.m) (If the weather is suitable). This Pass offers one of the most spectacular views of Eastern Himalayan Ranges. Again drive up to Punakha. Short sight-seeing included. Visit the famous Punakha Dzong built in 1637 A.D by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyel. Overnight stay.

After breakfast take a drive to the trekking start point i.e. Punakha Dzong. The trek to Limukha begins with a gradual climb through the forest. A village called Dompo-La lies on the way and we can stop by depending on the travelers' choice. Overnight stay in camp.

After breakfast the trek starts to Chungsakha. This trail leads you through Rhododendron and Oak forest. En route pass the famous Drukpa Kungley Lhakhang. Overnight stay in Camp.

After breakfast start the trek to Samtengang. This trails passes through the village of Sha Wangdue district. Overnight stay in Camp near lakeside.

Today starting from Samtengang you will reach Wangdue Passing by Chhuzomsa. This trail leads you to the main road. Drive to Wangdue Phordang. You can take a rest now. Overnight stay.

Early morning drive to Thimpu. You can opt for whole day sight-seeing and shopping. Overnight stay.

Drive to the Paro Airport.
