Davis Peak is located in North Cascades National Park. It is situated 5 miles southeast of Mount Terror and the southern Picket Range, and 3 miles west of Sourdough Mountain and Diablo Lake. The North Cascades Highway runs along its south footing. Davis is visible from the Diablo Lake overlook on the North Cascades Highway. In spite of Davis Peak's close proximity to a road and apparent visual exposure to be seen from a road like few peaks in the North Cascades can claim, Davis is infrequently a destination for climbers. This is due to the rugged approach and steep flanks. Davis Peak has a steep Northeast Face rock wall of Skagit gneiss and a glacier on its north flank. Davis Peak is named for the pioneering Davis family homesteaders that settled in the area.
