    Description :

Nairobi – Samburu and buffalo springs Game Reserve (Isiolo)
Depart Nairobi and drive north towards the central highlands of Kenya via Nanyuki and on to Mt. Kenya to the remote, semi-arid Samburu. This is the motherland of the nomadic Samburu people, whose culture confers great value to tending their livestock; cattle, sheep, goats and camels. This being their main economic activity. Samburu is opulent in species not seen in other southern Kenya's more famous parks, such as reticulated giraffes, Grevy's zebra, gerenuk and Somali ostriches. There’s a good chance of catching a glimpse of lions, cheetahs and the elusive leopard. The semi-arid landscape is dramatic, with picturesque views of the rugged outcrop of the beautiful Mt. Ololokwe a prominent feature. The Ewaso Ng’iro River, which acts as part of the formation of the southern boundary of the reserve, attracts varied birds species and is a popular watering point for elephants.

Arrive at your lodge-Samburu Sopa Lodge in time for lunch and some relaxation. Take an evening drive for some game viewing of the area guided by our expert driver-guide, who will astound you with his ability to spot game hidden in the bush. Return to the lodge in time for dinner and refreshments.

    Description :

The festival encapsulates the traditional awareness, beliefs and morals of communities in Marsabit County. The annual event provides an opportunity to enjoy myriad of intriguing cultures while discovering treasures of the region. The event features exclusive performances and cultural traditions from at least twelve of the ethnic communities which live in the Marsabit County: El Molo, Rendille, Samburu, Turkana, Dassanatch, Burji, Borana, Konso, Sakuye, Gabra, Garee, and the Waata. The presentation include information on their customs in addition to living conditions. There is a spectacular display of traditional costumes, arts, crafts, dances and music. This ensures that it is a unique and fascinating experience. Chiefly due to the stunning geographical surroundings and the limited general knowledge about the northern tribes in Kenya.

Other activities of the day may include: boat racing, Moran race, wresting, exhibitions of traditional foods as well as dances by the various tribes (depending on the program from the organizers). There is an option of hiring a boat if the weather and time permits to take a short sunset boat ride to the surrounding areas exploring the jade waters of the lake which is home to the largest population of Nile crocodiles in the world.(payable directly).Return to the lodge in time for dinner and rest in anticipation for more adventures of the following day.
