The famous Srimad Anantheswar Temple owned by the Gowda Saraswath community attracts pilgrims from all over India; particularly from the region lying Kanyakumari and Goa. The annual car festival of the temple is on the sixth Lunar day of the bright half of the Margashira month, usually between the third week of November and the third week of December. It is also called the Shashti Festival as the final day celebration takes place on the Skanda Shashti day, a day sacred to Subramanya.
