Located almost 8 km far from the main market area in Matheran, this secluded viewpoint is one of the must-visit scenic spots for tourists. Panorama point is a slice of heaven on the earth for photo fanatics, nature lovers and adventure seekers as it offers magnificent views of the mountains, adjoining peaks, valley and a lake. From this point surrounding scenic locations like Navara-Naveri, Chanderi, Navara-Navari, Peb fort can also be seen easily.

Unlike other popular points in Matheran, you will not find many tourists at Panorama point as it involves a strenuous trek to reach the top. The view from the top is stunning as it offers a panoramic glimpse of the majestic Western ghat range and small villages far below.

• No motorised vehicle is allowed in Matheran. Tourists need to move around on foot, rickshaw or horse ride.

How to reach?

Panorama point is very close to Matheran entry point and can easily be reached by pony or walk from main the market. You can also take Neral-Matheran toy train from the marketplace and trek for 2 km through rocky terrain. Though taking a horse ride is a convenient and time-saving option, trekking to this point through the lush green landscape is a wonderful experience. The trek to the point is strenuous but the sight of the mountains is worth the pain. The most easily accessible railway junction from Matheran would be Pune. You can take a bus or taxi from Pune to reach Matheran. Located at a distance of 131 km, the nearest airport is Pune airport.
