If old is gold then the Neemrana fort palace is the golden Heritage Hotel of India. The history of the fort dates back to 1464 A.D. with five levels of construction, the fort was built by the Rao Rajdeo. Neemrana became the third capital of the descendants of Prithviraj Chauhan III, who was killed in battle by Mohammad Ghori in 1192 AD. The fort palace named after a local chieftain named Nimola Meo, the brave pleaded to the chauhans after his defeat to lend his name to his lost kingdom. The beauty of the fort palace was restored before its conversion into a Heritage Hotel. The old fold mountains of the Aravallis have covered it. This picturesque site covers 25 acres/10 hectares and the stepped palaces of this architectural jewel cut into the hillside to sprawl over 3 acres/1.2 hectares and rises to 10 levels commanding the most splendid views.
