Bara Shaheed Dargah

Bara Shaheed Dargah, or the grave of 12 martyrs, is a holy shrine in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh. This shrine is dedicated to the twelve Muslim warriors that were laid their lives for the goodwill of their region. Each year, to thank the 12 great martyrs, hundreds of the enthusiastic Muslims devotees gather at Bara Shaheed Dargah and pay their respects. This place has become a major tourist attraction for the visitors as well and welcomes the people from each religion affectionately.

It Is Known For:-
1) Bara Shaheed Dargah is known for the holy graves of 12 warriors that rest adjacent to each other. It is said that during the battle, these 12 warriors were put to death in this place and to commemorate their sacrifice, Bara Shaheed Dargah was constructed
2) This enchanting place is also known for the celebration of Eid-Ul-Fitr, Eid-Ul-Azha, Moharram, and Rottela Pandunga
3) The festival of Rottela Pandunga is known as Roti festival. This festival is celebrated with a great zest at Bara Shaheed Dargah

Throughout the year, thousands of Muslims and Non-Muslims can be spotted offering respects to the martyrs. However, the best time to witness the enthusiasm is on the occasion of Rottela Pandunga. It is the time when the pilgrims can be spotted distributing rotis to the needy.
