Chitralekha Udyan is a famous tourist attraction in the Indian state of Assam. It lies in the city of Tezpur and was commissioned in the year 1906 by Mr. Cole, the then commissioner of Assam. Thus, another name for Chitralekha Udyan is Cole Park. The entire park was reconstructed in 1996. Today, tourists on a huge scale visit this park for spending recreational purposes.
Why Is It Famous?
Chitralekha Udyan is popular due to its beauty. The park is surrounded by the beautiful small hill and is the biggest attraction for visitors. The breathtaking surroundings like a well-manicured lawn of grass and trees add more charm to it. After the reconstruction, the park has the theme of the love-story of Aniruddha-Usha. Aniruddha was Lord Krishna’s grandson and Usha was Banasura’s daughter.
The whole park has different sculptures depicting Aniruddha and Usha dancing in different poses. The park also has a musical fountain that plays melodies every evening.

Chitralekha Udyan is known for its charm. It is a huge crowd puller and attracts the tourists on a huge scale. Excluding the summers, every season is appropriate for visiting this wonderful attraction. No visitor has to pay any fee for entry or clicking pictures.
Watch Out!
Do not dump any trash in the open. The park management has installed bins on the park premises. Tourists can use them for throwing the waste.
Apart from the sculptures and the musical fountain, there are numerous rides in the park. Visitors of all age groups can enjoy the different rides by paying a nominal charge.
