Beaches: The Varkala Beach or Papanasam Beach is a very prominent beach in Kerala which is good for swimming and paragliding. Edava Beach is another one, apt for sun bathing.
Religious: Janardana Swami Temple, Sivagiri Mutt, Sarkara Devi Temple and Kaduvayil Juma Masjid are renowned religious places of the town.
Others: Varkala Tunnel is 924 ft. long and very popular with tourists. Other places which are frequently flocked by visitors are Kappil Lake and Anjengo Fort.
