Your safari begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel, residence, or airport in Dar es Salaam. After a short briefing, depart by road for Nyerere National Park, enjoying the changing landscapes of southern Tanzania along the way. Arrive at Nyerere Tented Camp in time for lunch and some relaxation before heading out for an afternoon boat safari on the mighty Rufiji River. This unique safari experience offers excellent opportunities to observe hippos, crocodiles, waterbirds, and wildlife gathering along the riverbanks. The boat safari is particularly rewarding during sunset when the golden light reflects across the water and animals become more active. After the excursion, return to camp for dinner and overnight.

After an early breakfast, depart for a full-day game drive within Nyerere National Park. Explore the park's vast network of tracks, traversing woodlands, open plains, lakes, and riverine habitats in search of its incredible wildlife. The park is home to large populations of elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and antelopes, as well as predators such as lions, leopards, and African wild dogs. A packed lunch will be served at a scenic picnic site inside the park, allowing you to maximize your time in the wilderness. Continue your afternoon game drive before returning to camp in the late afternoon.

Walking Safari & Afternoon Game Drive Rise early for a guided walking safari accompanied by an experienced armed ranger and professional guide. This exciting activity offers a different perspective of the African bush, allowing you to discover animal tracks, plants, insects, birds, and other fascinating details often missed during vehicle-based safaris. The walking safari provides an intimate connection with nature while learning about the ecosystem and wildlife behavior from knowledgeable guides. Return to camp for breakfast and some leisure time. After lunch, embark on an afternoon game drive to further explore different areas of the park and search for wildlife you may not have encountered on previous excursions. Return to camp in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Enjoy breakfast at the camp before checking out and beginning the drive back to Dar es Salaam. Along the journey, take in the rural scenery and local villages of southern Tanzania. Upon arrival in Dar es Salaam, you will be transferred to your hotel, residence, or the airport, marking the end of your memorable Nyerere National Park safari.
