This 5-day safari starts and ends in Nairobi or Mombasa and explores Kenyas largest protected wilderness system split into two contrasting parks Tsavo East and Tsavo West. Travel is typically in a 4x4 safari Land Cruiser or safari van with accommodation ranging from budget camps to lodges. The itinerary covers game drives, volcanic landscapes, springs and high chances of seeing elephants lions buffalo and other big game with photography opportunities across open savannah and dramatic terrain.
Early morning departure via the Nairobi–Mombasa highway into Tsavo East National Park where game viewing begins almost immediately near the park gate. An afternoon game drive focuses on red elephants dusting themselves in iron rich soil and sightings of lions giraffes zebras and buffalo while exploring the Galana River and open savannah landscapes. Overnight accommodation is in a lodge or tented camp inside or near Tsavo East.
A full day dedicated to wildlife viewing in Tsavo East with visits to key natural attractions. Expect big game spotting including elephants lions leopards and buffalo. Optional guided nature walks may be available depending on lodge policy.
Final early morning game drive followed by breakfast and departure from the park. This exit from the park provides a final chance to spot predators before returning to the city or coastal beach destinations in Nairobi or Mombasa.
