You will be picked up from your preferred location or hotel in Jaipur in a sophisticated car to begin visit to Agra, Jhansi, Orchha and Khajuraho. Jaipur to Agra distance is 240 km which takes about 4 hours. Agra to Jhansi distance is 234 km which takes about 4.30 hours. Jhansi to Orchha distance is 16 km which takes about half an hour. Orchha to Khajuraho distance is 173 km which takes about 3.30 hours.
Day 1 : Agra Sightseeing
Guest picked up and we begin Agra Visit. Upon arrival we take a hotel. After refreshment we begin sightseeing we see the Agra fort and The Taj Mahal.
Taj Mahal: It took 22 years to build it with an estimated cost of 32 million Indian rupees (that equals over US $1 billion at the time). About 20000 labourers were recruited from all over Asia and over 1000 elephants were used to transport the heavy building material. The structure was adorned with of 28 types of precious and semiprecious jewels, some of which imported from Tibet and China.
Agra Fort: This magnificent structure is built in red sandstone and was built primarily as a military structure by Akbar. It was later transformed into a palace by his son, Shah Jahan who was imprisoned by his son Aurangzeb for eight years in the octagonal tower, ‘Mussaman Burj’ of the fort where he died. Night rest
Day 2 : Move to Jhansi
Guest picked up and we move to Jhansi. Upon arrival we take a hotel. After rest and refreshment we begin sightseeing.
We see Jhansi fort and Rani Mahal along with Maha Lakshmi temple, Government museum and St. Judes Shrine.
Jhansi Fort: Jhansi is a place of great historical importance. The Jhansi’s queen Laxmi Bai led forces against British army in India’s struggle for independence in 1857. The Jhansi fort is an impressive fortress located on a hilltop. In the month of January–February every year, a huge event ‘Jhansi Mahotsav’ is held. The fort opens all days for the tourists from 6 am to 6 pm.
Rani Mahal: This is the palace of Queen Laxmi Bai. Now it is a museum and treasures the memory of the queen and remains of the 9th to 12th century as well. It opens every day from 7 am to 5.30 pm.
Maha Lakshmi temple: It is a great temple with amazing historical importance. Devotees seek blessings here for financial benefits.
Government Museum: A museum which preserves architectural marvels of historic times. It is a must visit for the tourists.
St. Judes Shrine: It is a very popular shrine for Catholic Christians and preserves the bone of St. Jude buried in its foundation. Devotees gather from distant places. Night rest
Day 3 : Orchha Sightseeing
We see Jehangir Mahal, Orchha Fort, Chaturbhuj Temple, Chattris (Cenotaphs), Ram Raja temple
Jehangir Mahal, Orchha Fort: The beautiful fort was built as a stronghold and fortress for the Mughals to allow greater control over the Bundela region. The palace was completed in 1598 by Bharath Bhushan after he defeated Vir Deo Singh of Bundela.
Chaturbhuj Temple: Devoted to Lord Vishnu, it was built in 875 AD during the reign of Gurjara Pratihara dynasty. The name literally means the one with four arms.
Chattris (Cenotaphs): Situated on the Betwa river banks, Chattris is a set of magnificent royal tombs of the Maharajas. They are placed on a platform and supported by the pillars. They look very beautiful.
Ram Raja Temple: This is a beautiful Ram temple with an interesting history behind it. It is said that the Idols which were supposed to be installed in the Chaturbhuj Temple were kept on the ground. This temple stands on that spot only.
Day 4 : Departure to Khajuraho
Upon Khajuraho arrival we check into a hotel, Night rest.
Day 5 : Khajuraho Sightseeing
We begin sightseeing in Khajuraho, a world-famous tourist spot for temples built on erotic themes. Some of the sanctified temples of this place are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. We see Lakshmana Temple, Vishwanath temple and Kandariya Mahadev temple.
Lakshmana Temple: This incredible huge stone temple is famed for over 600 imageries of gods and goddesses of the Hindu religion. These open all days, 5 am to 12 pm and 4 pm to 9 pm.
Vishwanath Temple: This amazing temple built in 11th century is a UNESCO world heritage site. It is famous for the exquisitely carved sculptures of Shiva Lingam and Lord Brahma. It opens all days 7 am to 7 pm.
Kandariya Mahadev temple: A UNESCO World Heritage site, this top tourist attraction is dedicated to lord Shiva. Biggest of other temples on Khajuraho’s western part, it showcases some amazing stone works on erotic themes. It opens all days, 5 am to 12 pm and 4 pm to 9 pm.
Day 6 : We Explore Some More Temples like Devi Jagdamba Temple, Adinath Temple and Dulhadev Temple
Devi Jagdamba Temple: It was initially built as a Vishnu temple. The temple has beautifully carved erotic figures. The Garba Griha houses a spectacular sculpture of the Goddess of the Universe.
Dulhadev Temple: Built in the year 1130 the Dulhadev Temple enshrines a striking Shiva Lingam and outstanding sculptures of Apsaras and other ornamented figures. The temple also has a spectacular sculpture of Lord Shiva with his wife Parvati.
After exploring major spots we begin back trip to Jaipur for drop at preferred location.
