Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport with a private transfer straight to Arusha. Guests are taken to their hotel for dinner and a full nights rest ahead of the road journey the next morning. Accommodation is at Melia Hotel or Coffee Lodge on a bed and breakfast basis.

Drive from Arusha into Tarangire National Park with an afternoon game drive. Tarangire is centred on a single river that attracts resident wildlife for most of the year. Visitors can expect to start encountering elephant herds along with giraffe, impala, warthog, zebra, wildebeest and dwarf mongoose, with lion and leopard appearing regularly and occasional wild dog. The park hosts close to 550 recorded bird species and other plains species such as greater and lesser kudu and oryx.

A full day in Tarangire to explore more of the park and its baobab studded landscapes. The second day allows Tarangire to show different areas and species and can be paced to suit guest preferences. Accommodation can be organized as two nights in Tarangire or a split night with Karatu depending on guest preference.

Travel from Tarangire or Karatu into the Ngorongoro Highlands and descend into Ngorongoro Crater for a full day on the crater floor. The crater is set aside for an entire day because its enclosed geography concentrates wildlife, making sightings of rhino, elephant, lion and buffalo realistic on a single day alongside zebra, wildebeest and gazelle herds.

The route to the Serengeti runs through the Ngorongoro Highlands and down onto the Ndutu plains with a stop at a Maasai boma for a genuine cultural exchange. This day includes both cultural interaction and game driving as the road continues into the Central Serengeti; if travel dates fall during calving season the Ndutu plains can have large concentrations of wildebeest though wildlife movement timing is not guaranteed.

First of two dedicated full days in the Central Serengeti to experience resident predators and plains wildlife. Two full days are emphasized as essential so guests do not merely pass through but actually experience the Serengeti. Resident lion, leopard and buffalo hold territory year round and migration season can add additional spectacle depending on timing.

Second full day in the Central Serengeti moving through different territory to gain a fuller sense of the varied landscape from open grassland to riverine woodland. This day complements the previous Serengeti day to broaden wildlife and landscape experiences.

A final morning of game driving in the Serengeti followed by return to the lodge for a relaxed afternoon and dinner ahead of the departure day. This day offers a last chance for sightings before an easier evening to prepare for travel the next day.

A short domestic flight from the Serengeti airstrip to Arusha starts the final day. There is a stop available at a cultural heritage centre for last minute souvenir shopping if desired. From Arusha it is approximately a ninety minute road transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport timed to fit departing flights.
