Ratangad Fort, Bhandardara, is a famous tourist attraction in Maharashtra. The fort is a part of the Ratanwadi heritage sites in Maharashtra. This is situated near the Western Ghats and it is believed that the fort is 2000 years old. You will find four gates in these forts. They are Konkan, Trimbak, Hanuman and Ganesh. How to Reach?

Though there are no direct rail or flight connectivity, the nearest airport is Mumbai airport. Igatpuri is the nearest railway station to Bhandardara which is around 42 kilometres away.

By Air

As mentioned earlier, the Mumbai airport is the nearest airport to Bhandardara. It is around 177 kilometres away. You can hire a cab and taxis from the airport to reach Ratangad Fort, Bhandardara. Pune airport is also near, it is about 79 kilometres from Bhandardara.

By Road

Mumbai is around 180 kilometres away from Bhandardara. It can be accessed through NH3 followed by a right turn from Ghoti toll post. You have to travel for the next thirty kilometres from Ghoti and you will reach your destination. Bhandardara to Pune is 175 kilometres and can be accessed by NH50 up to Ghargaon. From there you can take the SH 21 and reach Bhandardara.

By Train

The nearest railway station to Bhandardara is Igatpuri. It lies in the Mumbai to Nashik rail route. It is 45 kilometres away from Bhandardara. You can choose a taxi or a state bus to reach your destination.
