The multi-cultural facets of Punjab are perfectly reflected in the tourist attraction in Bathinda called Pir Baba Haji Rattan Mosque. People from all religions, especially the Sikhs visit this mausoleum to get blessings from the holy Pir Baba. Baba Haji Rattan was sent to the holy city of Mecca as an Ambassador of India with the permission of Raja Bhoj. While he was returning back from his holy visit, Baba Haji Rattan decided to meditate in Bathinda and this is where this holy mosque is situated. A Gurudwara is also constructed beside the mosque sharing the same wall which shows the religious harmony here.
Legends have it that Baba Haji Rattan was a Hindu poet named Rattan Chand who was sent to Mecca for Haj and later abandoned by the society. The 1st Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak Devji took him in his patronage and blessed him with moksha.

The Mosque welcomes devotees all year round. But for people who want to do more than just get blessed by Pir Baba, the best time to visit this mosque is during December when the annual Baba Hazi Rattan Yadgari Sabhyacharak Mela is conducted in the nearby Gurudwara.

This mosque is located between the Grain Market and the Civil Hospital just a kilometer away from Bathinda bus stand. Reaching this mosque is quite easy and can be reached by own vehicle or by taking the taxis or autos in the city.
