Gokyo Lakes & Everest Base Camp Trek

Gokyo Valley Trekking is perhaps the most extravagant trekking in the Everest region, this trek is considered an unconventional route to the traditional Everest Base Camp and offers splendid views of the mountain peaks and the Ngozumpa- the largest glacier in the Nepal Himalayas & second in the world. The trek provides an excellent opportunity to see a view of Mt. Everest at close range. One of the most amazing features of the Gokyo valley trekking is the view of marvelous ice ridge between Mt. Cho Oyu and Gyachung (2922m) located in Khumbu region.

The image of this region is associated with the elevated views of the most popular mountains such as Mt. Cho-Oyo (8153m), Mt. Everest (8848m), Mt. Lhotse (8501m), Makalu (8463m) etc. which are clearly visible from Gokyo Peak (5360m.) & hike from 4th & 5th lakes.Our trek start after a thirty 30 minute flight from Kathmandu landing at Lukla by tiny airstrip, then our adventure really begins. We spend the next few days trekking and interacting amongst the mountain people also known as Sherpa’s we stay at local lodges and trek into the heartland of their villages. Everything is organized in conjunction with local Sherpa guides.

Along the trek we will pass Buddhist monasteries with the views of Everest and other snow towering mountains getting closer by the day. We will have rest days in the villages of Namche bazaar that will allow us to explore the region and to acclimatize, which is very important. After Climbing Gokyo Peak (5483 meters), we return at a leisurely pace back to Namche and Lukla for our flight back to Kathmandu.
