Hooghly Heritage Trail

Itinerary:
1. PICKUP
a. Starting as early as 7:30 am in the morning, we pick up from a variety of places in the district, as we head towards the western banks of the Hooghly river.
b. We pick up from a variety of locations within Kolkata and Newtown
2. REACHING DWARHATTA:
a. We begin our tour by entering the village of Dwarhatta.The Teracotta temples present here dates back nearly three centuries and showcases rare examples of Pancharatna and Aatchala architecture.
b. We have our breakfast here and then continue to see some magnificent beauty of rural Bengal
3. ANTPUR & RAJBALHAT:
a. After a short ride through the villages, we enter Antpur.Antpur boasts of having the best Terracotta temples in Hooghly and has a connection with the legend - SwamiVivekanada.
b. After Antpur, we visit the Shwet Kali Temple of Shree Shree Rajballavi Mata Temple at Rajbalhat.
4. LUNCH:
a. Completing the first half of our tour, we will return back to Dwarhatta for our delicious Bengali Lunch.
b. After Lunch, we head further North West to the Victorian village of Bengal where European-styled mansions co-exist with elaborate terracotta temples
5. MANSIONS &TERACOTTA TEMPLES:
a. The evening begins with a visit to the European Styled Mansions of the erstwhile Zamindars whose legacy continues even today. Watch the rituals and customs of the aristocrats in these Pujas.
b. Mingled among these mansions are the marvelous architecture of the Terracotta temples which are worth visiting especially in the autumn and winter.
