Located at the head of a pretty, steep-sided valley, the spectacular 100 foot Aber Falls can only be approached on foot. The river rises high in the Carneddau mountains, and is claimed to be one of the steepest from source to mouth in England and Wales. The walk passes through Coedydd Aber, a National Nature Reserve, and it is a beautiful walk at any time of year, but the falls are at their most impressive after torrential rain. The nearest car park is in the lane south of Abergwyngregyn.
