The costume of the Mizoram has noticeable resemblance with the other Indian states of the east. Puan is the most famous costume of female folks of Mizoram. It is known for wonderful display of animated color and shades. Similarly Puanchei is the marvelous apparel worn by the girls of Mizoram on the auspicious occasions of wedding and festivals like Chapchar Kut and Pwal Kut. The black and white shades of Ngotekherh; a cotton hand woven costume are quite an eye catching element. Kawrchei is very similar to Ngotekherh is famous for wearing in revelry and other happy occasions. It is a beautiful blouse usually worn with Puanchi by the Mizo girls. These costumes are rich in cotton fabrics as well as tint and patterns.

The males of the Lushai tribes in the Mizoram like their attire simple when it comes to the traditional wear. They almost like to drape themselves with seven feet long and five feet wide cloth piece.
