About Tamil Nadu:  Tamil Nadu also known as a land of temples lies in the Southern part of India. It has a long coast line that runs all along Bay of Bengal. The State is bordered by other states of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala. Tamil Nadu is well-known for Kanyakumari, which is the southern-most tip of India and offers an enchanting view of the sunset and sunrise.

There are various places of attractions located in Tamil Nadu. Some of them are Chennai-the capital city, Kanchipuram- the land of 1000 temples, Mamallapuram- the beautiful beach resort, Madurai- well-known for Meenakshi temple, the temple trio i.e. the places of Thanjavur, Rameshwaram and Tiruchirapalli. Tamil Nadu also comprises of various hill resorts like Ootacamund, Kodaikanal and Yercaud.

Southern part of India termed as the province of Madras was earlier divided into Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. Some areas were exchanged between the state of Tamil Nadu and Kerala like Kasargod and Malabar went to Kerala, while Kanyakumari and Shencotta went to Tamil Nadu. After all these exchanging of areas, Madras was renamed as Tamil Nadu.
