Narayani Mata Temple is situated in Alwar of Rajasthan. What makes this mandir special is it is the single temple of Sain Samaj in India. History:
Narayani Mata Temple, Alwar has a strong spiritual historical background. It is said that the first sati of ancient India happened here. It was the tale of before the time of Rani Sati. It is said that the husband of Narayani died by snake bites on their way to her in-law’s home. She fell in deep sorrow. She offered a prayer to Lord Shiva to either give back her husband’s life or let her die in the same fire with her husband’s dead body. With the blessings of Lord Shiva, the holy fire consumed both of them.

The temple of Narayani Mata is only 80 km distant from Alwar city. And, it is only 14 km away from Amanbagh. It is pretty close to Sariska Tiger Reserve.

• Narayani Mata Temple, Alwar, Rajasthan is recognized as the first sati site of this country. The first ritual of sati was performed by Narayani herself as her wish to die with her husband.
• The temple includes a natural spring in its premises. The water of the spring is considered to be holy.
• Baniya caste devotees are not allowed to enter this temple. This is because it is a Sain caste temple and the priest of the temple is of Meena caste.
• In 1993, a huge fair was organized at this temple, which Rajeev Gandhi had banned later.
