These 6 days wildlife safari will leave you with unforgettable memories and extensive exposure to wildlife amid amazing sceneries, demonstrating why Uganda is referred to as the pearl of Africa. The itinerary includes visits to Murchison Falls National Park, the strongest waterfalls on the Victoria Nile, Queen Elizabeth National Park known for its rich wildlife and Kazinga Channel, and Kibale Forest National Park for chimpanzee tracking. Highlights include rhino tracking at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, game drives, boat cruises, chimpanzee trekking, visits to the Equator, and cultural experiences along the route.
You will be welcomed and picked up by the driver guide and transferred from Entebbe to Murchison Falls National Park with an en route visit to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a nature walk to see rare rhinos in the wild. At Ziwa you will take a guided one hour rhino tracking walk. After the rhino encounter you will travel to Masindi for lunch at Kabalega dinners and then continue to Murchison Falls National Park, enjoying the park scenery and wildlife en route. In Murchison Falls National Park you will experience the dramatic falls and the park's vast plains which are home to lions, giraffes, hartebeests, buffaloes, elephants and a remarkable concentration of hippos and Nile crocodiles. Dinner and overnight at Sambiya River Lodge.
Early morning you will wake for a pre dawn game drive to encounter predators and early risers including jackals, lions, leopards, spotted hyenas, giraffe, antelope, elephant, buffaloes and Uganda kob. After the game drive you will return for a late breakfast and lunch. In the afternoon take a boat ride on the Victoria Nile to the bottom of the falls where you can view buffaloes, hippos, crocodiles and many water birds such as fish eagles and rare shoebills. Later proceed to the top of the falls to view the dramatic gorge where the Nile forces itself through a narrow 7 meter wide gorge and drops approximately 150 feet producing a thunderous roar and incredible scenery.
After an early breakfast you will have another morning game drive then return for lunch and check out. You will transfer to Kibale Forest National Park driving via the Albertine Escarpment of the western rift valley. The drive passes through Hoima and the verdant countryside, tea plantations and traditional homesteads. You will arrive in Fort Portal for lunch in the capital of the Tooro kingdom in the shadow of the Rwenzori mountains. After lunch continue to Kibale and check in at Kibale Forest Camp for dinner and overnight.
Early in the morning after breakfast you will go for chimpanzee trekking in Kibale National Park, an important primate area. You will enjoy a traditional meal prepared by one of the families in the local community as part of the cultural experience. After the trek return for lunch and then transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. On arrival check in at Baboon Safari Resort Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Early in the morning embark on a game drive to catch early risers and predators returning to their hideouts, then return to the lodge for breakfast and lunch. In the afternoon take a launch cruise on the Kazinga Channel, famous for the highest concentration of hippos in Africa, with sightings of buffaloes, huge crocodiles basking on the shores and a rich birdlife of over 611 species. Dinner and overnight at Baboon Safari Resort Lodge.
Have breakfast and then drive back towards Kampala with a pause in Mbarara for lunch where you can enjoy local dishes and stretch your legs. Visit the Equator for memorable photos and to experience the intersection of the Earth's hemispheres and explore souvenir shops. Continue your journey to either Kampala or Entebbe and be dropped off at your hotel or the airport depending on your travel plans.
