5-Day Kibale Chimps & Queen Elizabeth Wildlife Safari

Upon arrival at the airport you will be welcomed and picked by the safari guide who will brief you about the safari and then start the journey to Kibale National Park in western Uganda. The journey takes about 5 to 6 hours drive through Mityana, Mubende and Fort Portal. On the way you will have your en-route lunch in Fort Portal and enjoy great views of beautiful scenery including landscapes, tea plantations, crater lakes, countryside and the Rwenzori Mountain ranges. Upon arrival in the park you will check in at Kibale Forest Camp for dinner and overnight stay.

After an early morning breakfast you will meet your driver guide and transfer to Kanyachu visitors center for a briefing about rules and regulations for chimpanzee trekking. Groups will be subdivided and each group allocated a chimpanzee family with a park guide leading the way. Trekking can take about 30 minutes to 4 hours depending on chimpanzee locations. Once the chimpanzees are located you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat where you can take pictures, observe feeding, mating, resting, fighting, playing and record videos. You will trek back to the park headquarters and return to the lodge for lunch. Later you will go for the Bigodi swamp walk to view different primates and wildlife species. Dinner and overnight at Kibale Forest Camp.

After breakfast you will check out of the lodge and transfer with your driver guide to Queen Elizabeth National Park. En route you will enjoy views of crater lakes, tea plantations and farmlands. Upon arrival in the park you will check in at the lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the evening you will go for a game drive in the park where you may view animals such as buffaloes, elephants, Uganda kobs, waterbucks and warthogs. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Buffalo Safari Lodge.

Start with an early morning game drive to view wildlife when animals are most active including elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, lions and waterbucks. Return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch you will be transferred to the landing site near Mweya Lodge for a two hour boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel which connects Lake George to Lake Edward. The boat cruise offers excellent viewing of large herds of hippos and crocodiles. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Buffalo Safari Lodge.

After a relaxed breakfast you will check out of the lodge and meet your driver guide to embark on the journey back to Kampala. You will have an en-route lunch in Mbarara city. Continue to the Kayabwe equator stopping to take pictures and sightsee, then proceed to Kampala and on to Entebbe international airport for departure back home.
