Day 1

Arrival in Paro – Transfer to Thimphu

Meet and greet at Paro International Airport.

Drive to Thimphu, the capital city.

En route stop at Tamchog Lhakhang Iron Bridge.

Evening stroll at Thimphu town.

Overnight in Thimphu.

Activities : Bird Watching
Day 2

Festival Experience in Thimphu / Paro (Seasonal)

Depending on your travel date, enjoy one of the following:

Dechenphu Tshechu (21 Oct 2026, Thimphu)

Druk Wangyel Tshechu (13 Dec 2026, Dochula)

If no festival, explore Buddha Dordenma, Memorial Chorten, Tashichho Dzong.

Overnight in Thimphu.

Day 3

Thimphu – Punakha

Scenic drive over Dochula Pass (3,100m) with Himalayan views.

Visit Punakha Dzong (the “Palace of Great Happiness”).

Walk to Chimi Lhakhang (Fertility Temple).

Overnight in Punakha.

Activities : Hiking
Day 4

Punakha – Gangtey/Phobjikha

Drive to Phobjikha Valley, winter home of Black-necked Cranes.

If visiting 11 Nov 2026, attend the Black Necked Crane Festival at Gangtey Monastery.

Visit Gangtey Goenpa Monastery.

Overnight in Phobjikha.

Day 5

Gangtey – Trongsa – Bumthang

Drive across central Bhutan.

Visit Trongsa Dzong & Ta Dzong Museum.

Continue to Bumthang, Bhutan’s cultural heartland.

Overnight in Bumthang.

Bumthang Festival & Sightseeing

Fly/drive back to Paro.

Visit Paro Rinpung Dzong & National Museum (Ta Dzong).

Hike to the legendary Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest).

Return for last-minute shopping.
