Penukonda Fort is a famous fort in Andhra Pradesh and was constructed by the Hoysala dynasty. This fort stands in the Vijayanagara style of architecture and serves as a sacred site for the followers of Jainism. It houses the temple of Pache Parsavnatha Swamy Temple. Not only the Jain Temple but it also houses the Hindu temples and a mosque inside its premises. The 11 feet high idol of Lord Hanuman is a major attraction here.

1) Penukonda Fort served as the ruling throne for many dynasties including Mughals, however, the architecture of the fort was never changed
2) The spy tunnel (now closed) is a major attraction. In the previous times, it was used for transporting jewels and food for the kingdom
3) Though ceremonial rituals aren’t practiced here, still people make offerings that are distributed among the needy. This practice of distributing alms is running down from an ancient period.
