Your journey begins with a warm welcome from Tass staff at the airport before heading to the historic Fairmont The Norfolk Hotel. Since its opening in the early 1900s, the Norfolk has been more than just a landmark; it is an institution that grew alongside Nairobi itself. Our first full day features a guided tour of the city's treasures, including the National Museum and a stop at the Giraffe Centre to hand-feed endangered Rothschild giraffes. We also explore the estate of Karen Blixen, the author whose soul-stirring memoir Out of Africa captured the world's imagination. We conclude the evening back at the Norfolk, fueled by excellent food and shared stories, ready to head into the wild for the adventure of a lifetime.

After departing Nairobi via Wilson Airport, a morning flight brings us to Amboseli National Park. The landscape is defined by the massive presence of Mount Kilimanjaro, a 19,000-foot giant that towers nearly three miles above the acacia-filled plains. It is easy to understand why local traditions once viewed this glacier-capped peak as a divine presence. From our base at the beautifully appointed Ol Tukai Lodge, we will head out on game drives to witness Amboseli’s legendary elephant herds, some of the largest in Africa, alongside a vibrant community of lions, cheetahs, buffalo, and dozens of other species that thrive in this unique ecosystem.

Renowned for its breathtaking vistas and the iconic silhouette of Mount Kilimanjaro fading in the distance, Tsavo East offers a truly dramatic landscape.You’ll reach your reserved lodge in time for a midday meal and check-in. Following a brief period of relaxation, we’ll head out for an afternoon game drive, exploring the wilderness until sunset. The sheer variety of wildlife here is stunning, making for an unforgettable transition between these two iconic ecosystems. We’ll return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and a restful night’s sleep.

Experience a premier half-day excursion to Nairobi National Park, located just a short drive from the Fairmont Norfolk Hotel. This unique sanctuary allows you to spot lions, rhinos, and buffalo against a backdrop of the city skyline.Founded in 1942 by colonial settlers as a natural escape bordering the developing capital, it holds the distinction of being the world's only national park located within a city's boundaries. While its 177-square-kilometer area is relatively compact by Kenyan standards, it packs a punch with three distinct landscapes: the dry forests to the west, sweeping southern savannahs, and a lush riverine border to the southwest. Though the park’s size means elephants are absent, it remains a vital stronghold for leopards and both black and white rhinos, all just 7km from the heart of the CBD and the historic elegance of the Fairmont Norfolk.

We’ll have day rooms at the Fairmont Norfolk Hotel for use prior to our late night flights homeward. And during the day, we can visit the Children center, do some shopping, or just kick back and savour the first, fresh memories of a classic African safari.
