Kalika Mata Temple

Any tour made to Chittorgarh remains incomplete if visitors do not flock to Kalika Mata Temple. It is a Hindu temple that is ages old and is dedicated to Goddess Bhadrakali. It was constructed when Maharana Pratap ascended the throne. The presiding deity of this temple was worshiped by Maharana and his army generals for the victory in battle. Though the prayers aren't carried anymore at Kalika Mata Temple, it is visited by the tourists from different places.

1) Kalika Mata Temple is built in Pratihara Rajasthani style of architecture. It has the rich interiors that comprise of pillars carved in a serpentine manner, polished floor, and different sculptures
2) This temple stands on an elevated platform. A major part of the temple was rebuilt because it was destroyed when Khilji's army attacked Chittorgarh
3) Kalika Mata Temple is counted amid those Hindu shrines where the customary practice of the animal sacrifice was carried for a prolonged period of time.

Kalika Mata Temple is a great place of interest inside Chittorgarh Fort premises. Due to its fame, it welcomes tourists throughout the year, especially during Navaratri season. Though the prayers aren't conducted anymore, the temple of the Goddess Kalika is decorated beautifully.
