Sharana Basaveshwara Temple

Sharana Basaveshwara Temple is a remarkable temple in Karnataka. Located in Gulbarga, this temple enshrines the saint Sharana Basaveshwara who was a teacher and philosopher in the foregone times. He belonged to the Lingayath sect and preached to practice charity. After his demise, this temple was erected to commemorate him. Numerous followers of the Lingayath sect gather to pay their homage to the saint on his birth and death anniversary.

5)    The sanctum of the temple houses the idol of Sharana Basaveshwara and it is worshiped daily by his followers.
