Baba Garib Sthan Mandir

Baba Garib Sthan Mandir is a famous and historic Hindu temple in Bihar. This temple stands in the region of Muzaffarpur and enshrines Lord Shiva. The temple was consecrated in the ancient times and has a self-manifested Shivalinga installed in the sanctum. Many pilgrims visit this temple daily to offer their respects to Lord Shiva.

1)    Baba Garib Sthan Mandir is a historic Hindu temple in Muzaffarpur.

2)    It enshrines Lord Shiva in the form of a Shivalinga with different tales related to it.

3)    According to a famous tale, a woodcutter discovered this Shivalinga when his axe accidentally hit the Shivalinga that began to bleed. The scars are still present on the Shivalinga.

4)    The others tale also narrate the miracles of Lord Shiva like assuming the human form to help his devotees and a huge snake attending the aarti on a daily basis.

5)    The previous structure has been replaced with a new one built using marble.

Devotees of Lord Shiva visit Baba Garib Sthan Mandir every day. During the Shravan month, Kaanwars arrive at this temple and perform the abhisheka of the Shivalinga from the waters of the Holy Ganges. Maha Shivaratri is a great time to visit Baba Garib Sthan Mandir.

Do not forget to participate in the first aarti of Baba Garib Nath (Lord Shiva). On the sacred event of Maha Shivaratri, bhasm aarti is done similar to Mahakaal Mandir in Ujjain.
