The Dragon Palace Temple is a Buddhist temple situated in a beautiful location in Kamptee. It is on the Nagpur-Jabalpur road 20 km from the city of Nagpur. Although the temples are meant for great noise, chanting and ringing of bells but this temple has proven to be a great city escape for people. During the summers, Nagpurians take a soothing escape from the city when the scorching heat becomes a bit unbearable. History of the dragon palace temple

 

The temple was established in the year 1999 by Reverend Nichiki Kato from Tokyo, Japan. It is esteemed as a milestone of Indo-Japan friendship. Madam Noriko Ogawa from the Ogawa Society of Japan donated for the construction of this temple in the form of monetary support. Within a very short span of 20 years, this place has arisen to be a place that is recurrently crowded by tourists every day often, which can be accredited to its creditable architecture and the symbols it is based on- peace and harmony.

 

Architecture

 

The temple walls are intensely coloured, while the whole construction is in white marble. Other features that add to its aesthetic appeal are colourful flowers, neatly manicured gardens and green landscapes in the middle of which the temple is situated. There is a gigantic Buddha figurine placed on the 2nd floor.
