Pench National Park

Pench National Park is a prominent national park in Madhya Pradesh which is easily accessible by the nearest city Seoni. The name of this national park is derived from the Pench River. Pench river divides this national park equally and separates it into the east and west parts. This park is spread over a 293 sq mi area.

History 

Since long time ago, it was a forest. Ruyard Kipling - an English novelist visited this forest and got so much inspired. Based on this inspiration he had written a great novel The Jungle Book. Till 1977, this park was recognized as a sanctuary, and it was promoted as a National park in 1983.

For complete rejoice of the Pench National Park, you should plan your travel between October to February. At this time you will observe the lush green Jungle. During this time you can find the folks of birds, which come from colder areas to this region to find shelter.

By Road : You have to drive on Nagpur-Jabalpur Highway. From Nagpur, you can access this tourist spot via NH 44 in approx 1 hr 50 min, which is 78.1 km away. If you start your journey from Jabalpur, then it will take approx 4 hr 23 min which is 228.4 km away.
