Vellore Fort is an architectural marvel and the 'Pride of Vellore'. It is a huge fort that was built in the 16th century by the Vijayanagar kings. 3) Tipu Palace that was used by Tipu Sultan as a shelter was transformed into a royal prison. Tipu and his family, Hyder Ali and his family were imprisoned here for lifetime
4) The grave of Vickrama Rajasinghe, the last monarch of Sri Lanka (Ceylon), is also located here
