Thinking about our safari catalogue and different range of people that we can cater for, we have thought about many students or institutions that would like to organize for an African educational safari, featuring the Attractions of East Africa, Mammals and Plants, History and Prehistory, Cultures or even bird watching to anything like professional guiding skills. It is for that reason that we have thought of introducing some educational safari programs. In order to provide a good quality and a high level of services to the majority of the clients who spend time and resources on serious Nature Tours, we have also decided to introduce some special educational programs for Safari Guides and Naturalists Each day of your adventure is carefully curated to provide an unforgettable experience. Activities : Sightseeing
Soon after we land in Nairobi, Tass staff will whisk us away to the historic Fairmont Norfolk Hotel. Now a jewel in the Fairmont crown, the Norfolk has been a reigning East African landmark since the early 1900s. For much of their history, Nairobi and the Norfolk have been nearly synonymous. The next day, we’ll head out for some city sightseeing in the capital, including visits to the National Museum, the Giraffe Centre (where we’ll hand-feed endangered Rothschild giraffes), and Karen Blixen’s home just outside of Nairobi. In 1937, Baroness Blixen (under the pen namesake Dinesen) published Out of Africa, which many of us consider the most heart-stirring book ever written about the continent We’ll return to the Norfolk inspired by hospitality, good food, and fine conversation, eager and ready to embark on a classic African safari.

Campi ya Kanzi is the kind of place that inspired Ernest Hemingway to write in Green Hills of Africa that “All I wanted to do now was to get back to Africa. We had not left it yet, but when I would wake in the night, I would lie, listening, homesick for it already.” In fact, this is indeed the place Hemingway was already homesick for; ya Kanzi is set at the foot of Kenya’s cloud-forested Chyulu Hills, Hemingway’s beloved Green Hills. And just to the south, rising like a dream, is what is perhaps the largest, and surely the most magisterial mountain on earth, Kilimanjaro. The camp’s wondrous setting is just part of its charm. It’s delightfully small—only six marvelously designed tents and two suites—and intimate—it’s the only camp on a Maasai-owned, 283,000-acre wilderness—providing Micato guests a near-unique old-time safari experience under Luca and Antonella’s creative care. (Though they’re quick to point out that “The true hosts here are the Maasai landlords who own and staff Campi ya Kanzi.”) Thus another ya Kanzi charm: the fertile partnership between the camp and the local people. For a sample of ya Kanzi’s intense involvement with sustainability and cultural preservation, take a look at (New York Marathon fans might be familiar with the Maasai runners who annually raise funds for the Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust)
